Thank you Disney/Hyperion for the review copy of BRUCE’S BIG FUN DAY. Congrats Ryan T. Higgins on your Cybils nomination!
Summary
Cheery but clueless Nibbs invites Bruce for a hike for a Big Fun Day.
The text tells us Bruce’s endearingly surly attitude means that the day really stinks for him. The pictures suggest maybe the fault is Nibbs’ thoughtless optimism.

Either way, at the end of the book we’re reminded that a day full of reasons to be grouchy is a happy day for Bruce.
Loved
It’s always brilliant to take beloved picture book characters into more advanced books. Five very short chapters in a 32-page, easy-reader level book give kids the confidence to make the next step forward to longer chapter books. Bruce is always funny, and this book is a great jumping point for a discussion about self-awareness.

Is available now from Disney Hyperion.
